Norwegian mega office Snøhetta’s beautiful project finally opened to the public in March. The combined restaurant and research station is in the shape of a monolith, with half of it sunken into the water; the idea is that the concrete facade will eventually become a reef, one with the sea. In the dining room, overlooking the bottom of the sea through an eleven metres wide panoramic window, are tables and chairs designed exclusively for the restaurant, inspired by tree branches, while the colour scheme and lighting with billowing panels are reminiscent of the sun setting in the sea.
