With the help of a curvy mirror, saturated candy colours and some hundred thousand Instagram followers, Gustaf Westman has in a very short time become one of our most celebrated designers.
Forms Elin Seittu meet with Gustaf Westman at one of Stockholm’s many noisy cafes. After adding to the general atmosphere by dropping his pen for the fifth time, he admits that he’s a rather fidgety person. Getting into architecture school based on grades was out of the question for him. Instead, he spent his high school years sketching notebooks full of fashion, furniture and architecture.
”In a hundred years, people will say that these are the furniture pieces that became popular through social media – like how the Stockholm Exhibition was a big thing in the 1930s.”
