Stokkøya Sea Centre

The Stokkøya Sea Centre (Stokkøya Sjøsenter), designed by Pir 2 Architects, is a carefully designed camping site. Totally appropriate for the time and place in a country where they are still popular, but which has been upgraded along with the oil money that has rolled in. With blank walls, lights with textile cables, furniture in untreated wood and steel wire, and garish accent colours, Stokkøya Sjøsenter has all of the design elements that characterise the early 2000s. And if you wonder what is meant by “glamping”, the centre has your answer: glamorous camping.
